Hey, my name is Dylan. I’m 14 years old, and as you will find out, I don’t take some things seriously. At first high school seemed daunting and I was anxious about how different the atmosphere was. However, I now feel so lucky to be at Foothill and to be able to meet new friends. Something tells me that i’m going to like it here and I can’t wait to see what this school has to offer. Let me explain to you some of my goals for freshman year and beyond.
I want to work on my academics so I can have a better chance at getting into a 4- year college. To get there, I’d want to get better at taking notes, write essays, read some more books, and overall readying for college and a job. I want to get into some type of engineering because I love to build electronics. But, I need to actually find out which college I want to go to; maybe UCLA or USC?
Dillon's Goals For Freshman Year
My family is simultaneously awesome and dysfunctional at the same time. Money is a big problem for most of my dad’s family and my grandma on my mom’s side of the family has been married multiple times which is why I have an awesome uncle who is 15. I would like to spend more time with my family whether it is having dinner or maybe visiting them whenever I can. I also would like to try to get along with my dad a little more as we don't always agree with each other.
This year I would like to meet new friends and also continue to hang out with existing ones. So far, I have met a couple of people like Hunter, Aiden, my FIRE Crew, and Xavier. And my friends Brennan, Tommy, Thomas, Casper, and Nikhil all come to Foothill which is awesome. My best friend James is pretty awesome but he goes to Ace in Camarillo. It sucks but at least we do some camping and play online sometimes. I’m thinking of starting a Jazz Band here because in middle school I was in a jazz band with Brennan and Nikhil and that was pretty cool.
My goals for fitness are pretty simple to achieve because I almost always ride my bike to school and the P.E. program here sounds like it's going to make you sweat. It’s a lot better than in middle school where you run half the time where as here you do workouts. It also helps that my diet is pretty good so I don’t have to worry about eating the right foods. I rarely eat junk food and I only eat out when my dad is too tired to cook. My dad is also talking about running trails on the weekends to try to get me off the computer.
People say that these years are the most important 4 years of life, so I want to make it count. Hopefully unlike New Year’s resolutions, I will be able to achieve some of these goals and more! Spending time with friends and family, working on academics, and exercising will help me prepare for my future! Hi, my name is Marie Bell. I’m a freshman at foothill high school. I have to say, I don’t like speeches. Now I have to challenge myself and work on speeches and presentations during my four years of high school. I’m hoping to develop something in academics, family, friends, and athletics.
In 7th grade I got a lot of ‘B’s in class. In 8th grade I improved and got ‘A’s and ‘B’s. So, my goal for my freshman year is to get many ‘A’s as possible. Especially in english class because I always had to work hard to get good grades in this class. I’m excited for biology because I like to learn new things and i’m interested in science. It is my dream to work with animals someday, that’s why I want to work hard in science. There are many opportunities in high school, I think this is when you start thinking about what you would like to do in the future. My goal for this year is to not procrastinate during my homework and put away things that distract me from doing work. I think this is something I could keep in mind to get good grades during my freshman year.
Friendly, fun, loving, and supportive are my family's personalities. My family is always there for me no matter what. Most of the time I just see everyone running around in the house. During the week we’re all busy but we try to eat dinner together as a family. On sundays we go to church together. It will be nice if we could do something on during the weekends and spend more time together. During summer or winter vacation, we could go somewhere special and make some memories together. They have done so much for me and I’m thankful to have them as my family.
My friends are the people who understands but also cheers me up and make me laugh. I always wondered how friend groups are made; common hobbies, personalities, the looks. I still have my friends from kindergarten and mostly from elementary school. I still text or call them whenever I have time. My goal is to make many friends during high school and to keep contact with my old friends. During the four years of highschool I want to make memories with my friends and make it a great freshman year.
Starting this year and now on I’m going to watch what I eat because what I eat really matters for my health. Staying healthy and fit are really difficult when you don’t play sports or exercise. For example I’m doing cross country this year, and I wasn’t fit at the beginning when I started. Practicing is what makes you better and it helped me to build up strength. Working on little things and setting high goals makes you better. Eating healthy is another element that will help me stay fit. Same as fast foods, processed food isn’t healthy as other fresh foods. Even though processed food tastes really good and it's easy to cook, it’s not good for my health. All the things that people eat and do has an impact, maybe it’s a good one or bad. I’m going to stay fit and stay on track with my healthy habits this year.
These are my goals during my freshmen year and beyond. I may not have a specific goal, but reminding my goals for myself will help me get good grades, making time for my family, make some new friends, and stay healthy and fit. I’m hoping that high school can help me grow in many ways.
